Ok, here are some things that will help: *SPOILERS* 1. THE "OBVIOUS" THEORY - Yes, Tidus is gone. End of story. 2. THE "INTERNATIONAL" THEORY - As described here: thegia.com/news/0201/n31a.html 3. THE "INTERNATIONAL v2.0" THEORY - Branches the International theory, but that Yu Yevon created the sphere to get Yuna and company to go to Gaggazet for him to get even with Yuna. Surely since Yu Yevon is the god of a planet, he can cheat something like death. Also states that the tick thing that was fought last wasn't Yu Yevon, but a part of Yu Yevon, or an aeon of Yu Yevon or something Yu Yevon created. So Yu Yevon is still alive, but Sin is not, since Yu Yevon had no aeons to hold on to, because you killed them all off before fighting The Curse of Yevon. 4. THE "DREAM" THEORY - Tidus dreams the whole thing after a nap tackle in a blitzball game, hence the water in the ending. Also, "proof" of this is when he keeps saying "this is my story." 5. THE "MATTER" THEORY - How can a dream person like Tidus defeat a living thing of matter Sin? He must be alive. One of the Fayth said that Jecht was real because he touched Sin, and since Tidus came into contact with Sin, he is therefore, alive. 6. THE "UNSENT" THEORY - Since there was no scene of Tidus being sent, he is an unsent, and therefore, able to walk the earth like Auron used to do. 7. THE "YOJIMBO FAYTH" THEORY - States that the Yojimbo fayth said "The planet can't kill what saved it", so Tidus is still alive. 8. THE "RETURN OF THE ONE WINGED ANGEL" THEORY - States that Yu Yevon is actually Sephiroth, which will spur on a sequel, or a hybrid sequel of VII/X. (Whoever thought of this one is a little too addicted to Final Fantasy games.) 9. THE "REAL MIX-UP" THEORY - Says that the "Tidus" on the sphere in the International version wasn't the Tidus that we all knew, but the REAL Tidus that lived in the REAL Zanarkand 1,000 years ago. 10. THE "GOOD-BYE" THEORY - The last image of Tidus was there to say a last good-bye to the guy who saved Spira, Tidus. 11. THE "IMPOSTOR" THEORY - Says that the Tidus on the sphere on the International movie is an impostor. May go hand-in-hand with the INTERNATIONAL v2.0 theory.

i think he is an unsent. I think he dies at the beginning of the game when he falls from the ledge. And from there on he walks the earth as an unsent...like auron. At the end of the game when he disappears i think he is being sent. And that is what i think

At the end of the game when he disappears i think he is being sent. And that is what i think that can't be, cause Tidus entered the farplane.

This might sound a little weird but...i know you know that the fayth said that they were dreaming him up. So i dont think they meant for him to be sent when he entered into the farplane...so he didnt get sent. If they let him get sent then...then he wouldnt let them rest.

I think tidus was just a dream of the fayth chosen to end with Sin and all that suffering, after his mission was completed he was sent to the farplane. 10. The last image of Tidus was there to say a last good-bye to the guy who saved Spira.

I also dont think there is a right/wrong conclusion. Square made it that way...and i like that. it keeps you thinking and wanting to play it again.

obviously, since he appears in the sequels, he must be alive. It is why and how he is alive that is the question. After you revisit the temples, Shiva's fayth says something about making a new sea for him, and saying that Spira can't kill what saved it. I can't remember clearly, though. Also, the game never really showed him dying on the farplane. It just showed him being an idiot, and jumping off the Airship. If that is true, he just smashed into the ground, and became an unsent like Auron was, and when Yuna whistled he came back, because he had to keep his promise to her. I'm sorry if I confused anyone, but this is what I think.

I think the last image of Tidus in the sea was just a last good-bye to the guy who saved Spira.

i think he is alive because Hironobu Sakaguchi likes to pull that kind of stuff (see every final fantasy ever created).
And in ff7 cloud got out of the lifestream when he is trapped, so why cant tidus? at tha end after tha credits it shows tidus swimming out of the lifestream
(and did he jump off the airship? If if remember the full ending right the he disappeared to go to the lifestream and thenhe ran towards yuna, went through her and disappeared into the lifestream)

What lifestream? He jumped off the airship, yes. He was later shown in water.

sorry... [spoilers i think- but theyre not really i dont think...im confused] ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- that happens in like 30 seconds though and you cant really control the characters... you walk about 4 steps as tifa and talk to cloud in a place with a green background...wow...
and it was in tha middle of tha game and everyone goes "wheres cloud?" ..."oh there he is"
and thats about how quick
ps... that was one of tha things on squares page while ff7 was still on there, too...
